Boys Basketball

Hoggard 62, New Bern 52

Joe O'Donnell led the Vikings with five 3-pointers and 25 points and Trevor Singleton added 22 points.

"We didn't play our best tonight. Defensively, we struggled," Hoggard coach Brett Queen said. "Joe O'Donnell played good offensively, made some big three- point baskets. Luckily, we were able to get the lead and hold on to it and keep our two-game lead in the conference."

Hoggard (13-6, 7-0) travels to Rose on Friday.

Trask 48, Hobbton 44

Rasheed Brown led the Titans to their third win in a row with 14 points and Tyquan Davis scored eight.

Trask (7-14, 3-8) plays at Union on Friday.

Clinton 56, Topsail 47

The Pirates jumped out to a 17-10 first-quarter lead, then Clinton cut the lead to one at the half. Topsail was outscored 25-17 in the second half.

The Pirates were led by Tyler Hagan with eight points.

The Wolfpack battled back from five points down after three quarters and outscored West Bladen 15-8 in the fourth to pick up the road win.

Shaun Kirk led the Wolfpack with 19 points.

West Bladen (8-12, 3-6) plays South Columbus on Thursday.

The Vikings were led by Julie Buhler with 21 points and Ellen Tootoo with 14 rebounds.

"Sophomore point guard Julie Buhler made some big shots, inside and from 3- point range," said Hoggard coach Boubacar Aw.

Tenae McKenzie led the way for the Panthers with nine points and six assists.
