Boys Basketball

Village Christian 63, Cape Fear Academy 36

The Hurricanes were unable to protect home court on Tuesday night, falling to visiting Village Christian.

Gene Middleton led the Hurricanes with 11 points.

Javen McNeill led the Knights with 19 points.

Cape Fear’s varsity girls also fell to Village Christian, 47-38.



Coastal Christian 49, Wilmington Christian 38

In a game played Monday, the Conquerors beat the Patriots at Wilmington Christian Academy.

Nick Chase led the way for Coastal Christian, scoring 21 points while also grabbing eight rebounds. Andrew Hardee, Ben Tawes, and Jonah Attoe each had seven points to lead Wilmington Christian.



O’Neal School 58, Harrells Christian 45

Harrells Christian’s difficult season continued Tuesday night, as they fell at home to O’Neal School.

Graham DiPinto and Zack Carlton finished as the only Crusaders in double figures, at 15 and 11 points, respectively.

Wrestling

Hoggard 39, Ashley 28

Hoggard defeated Ashley, pulling out victories in seven of the 13 matches.

In the 132-pound weight class, Daniel Wilson of Hoggard defeated the Screaming Eagles’ Austin Gabriel by decision, 5-0.

Malek Moore of Hoggard handled Ashley’s Phillip Parker in the 285 weight class, pinning him in 50 seconds.
