Boys Basketball

Northside 51, Topsail 47

Despite a fourth quarter rally, Topsail was unable to pull off the victory at home on Friday night, falling to Northside 51-47.

Josh Cabrera led the Monarchs (7-0) with 18 points while the Pirates' (6-3, 0-1) leadings scorers were Tyler Hagan and Jeremiah Bland at 19 and 14 points, respectively.



Cannon School 78, Cape Fear Academy 44

The Hurricanes were unable to gain any traction on the court Friday night, falling to the visiting Cannon School, 78-44.

T.J. Ryder was the only Hurricane to reach double figures, finishing with 10 points.

The Cougars were led by Dahmir Boswell, who had 16 points on the evening.



Girls Basketball

Cannon School 49, Cape Fear Academy 17

The Cape Fear varsity girls' basketball team was on the losing end of a lopsided game Friday night, as they fell to the Cannon School, 49-17.

Only three players scored for the Hurricanes, with Grace Andrews leading the way with nine points.

Reed Harmon was able to reach double figures for the visiting Cougars, finishing with 10 points.
