The Eagles came out on a 19-2 run in the first quarter and easily blew out Jacksonville. Felecity Havens led the way for the Eagles with 20 points and Breanna Edwards added 16. Ashley (3-2) plays at Jack Britt on Tuesday.



East Columbus 49

Whiteville 44


The Eagles and Wolfpack were tied at 17 at the half and it came down to free throws and turnovers in the second half.

"We gained our composure in the second half and came out eliminating the outside shot and, with turnovers from Whiteville, we were able to score easy baskets," said East Columbus coach Karyln Stephens.

Lauren Jenkins led the way for the Gators with 15. Jordan Ray led Whiteville with 15.

"It could have went either way; came down to free throws. We missed ours and they hit theirs and we had critical turnovers and missed opportunities," said Whiteville coach Serena Smith.

East Columbus (2-2) plays South Columbus on Tuesday.



Harrells 67

Wilmington Christian 11


Daisha Murphy led the way for the Crusaders with 12 and Regan Murphy added 10. The Crusaders held the Patriots scoreless in the first quarter. Wilmington Christian (1-6) plays Durham Academy on Saturday.

The score was tied at 11 after the first quarter and then the Eagles outscored St. Paul's 15-2 in the second to take control. Lacy Suggs controlled the boards with 18 rebounds, and Ieasha Swindell scored 10 points to lead the Eagles. East Bladen (6-0) plays Wallace-Rose Hill on Monday.

Alex Simmons led the way for the Wildcats with 13 points and six rebounds. New Hanover (3-3) plays South Brunswick on Tuesday.

West Bladen jumped out to an 11-point first-quarter lead and held on for the win. Devonte Smith led the way for the Eagles with 12 points. West Bladen (2-2) plays at Purnell Swett on Wednesday.

Evan Head scored 16 and Gene Middleton hit two 3-pointers and scored 12 for the Hurricanes. Cape Fear (2-3) plays Parrott Academy on Monday.
