Cape Fear Academy 47, Coastal Christian 39

Cape Fear Academy used hot shooting to down Coastal Christian late Tuesday night in a CFIC contest at Coastal.

"It's been really fun since they started their school," CFA coach Loren Baysden said. "That rivalry was born fairly early. They knocked us off once last year and we've had a lot of close games."

The Hurricanes (3-3) hit eight three-point shots in the game, and Coastal Christian (2-5) had three consecutive turnovers in the fourth quarter while CFA pulled away.

Daniel MacRae had three of those 3s and finished with 11 points for CFA. Nick Chase had a game-high 16 points for Coastal.

"We did a good job of taking away their shots in the third or fourth quarter," Coastal coach Craig Wheeler said. "We had the lead in the third quarter and then they hit back-to-back 3s to end the third and start the fourth."

W. Brunswick 61, W. Columbus 49

Markel Jones' 13 points led a balanced attack for the Trojans (2-1), who used big first- and fourth-quarter margins to hang on against the Vikings late Tuesday night.

Zarie Hankins and Gray Cheers added nine points each for West Brunswick. Antonio Reese had a game-high 19 points for West Columbus.

Fairmont 77, West Bladen 62

The Knights had a disastrous second quarter on the road to seal a loss to the state-ranked Golden Tornadoes late Tuesday night.

Devonte Smith and Nate Pryor had 15 points each for West Bladen (1-2), while Fairmont star Kwinton Hinson had 27.
