TABOR CITY | South Columbus was able to squeeze its way into the rematch with East Bladen, holding off South Granville in the second round of the Class 2A state football playoffs.
Dashaun Daniels finished with 114 yards rushing and the Stallions got two short TD runs from Rashaad Chatman – the second with less than a second left in the first half that gave South Columbus (11-2) the lead for good.
"We played good at times and bad at times," said Stallions coach Jake Fonvielle. "We turned the ball over a little too much and missed some opportunities, but te defense played really well."
Now South Columbus can focus on a little bit of revenge against the Eagles.
"We just want to go and get off the bus this time," Fonvielle said. "We didn't get off the bus last time. We're going to go ready and play a great game of football."
